CEO and founder Peter Nilsson decided to work on a new venture and was joined by Roundo AB´s best, brightest and most experienced team members as a change of ownership led to bankruptcy and closing down of the Roundo AB factory.

Meet the founder
SweBend was founded by Peter Nilsson, the company’s CEO. Peter spent almost 30 years learning the craft of bending-machine design under the founder of Roundo® – for decades regarded as the world’s leading bending-machine manufacturer, with more than 16,000 machines delivered to companies such as Rolls-Royce, John Deere, Toyota and Volvo. He was mentored by Roundo’s founder and, in time, named as his successor.
When a change of ownership led to the bankruptcy and closure of the Roundo factory in Sweden, Peter chose to start something new. Joined by Roundo’s most experienced engineers, he pooled that hard-won expertise and founded SweBend in Hässleholm in 2013.
Today, the machines Peter and his team build supply many of the world’s leading benders – among them Barnshaws, Kersten Europe, Den Oudsten, Sjölund and Van Rijsoort – with plate-, section- and tube-bending rolls, forming, flighting and spiralling machines, and the SEVEN CNC system.
His approach rests on a simple conviction: a customer should never just get a machine, but the right machine for their production. By breaking a client’s bending challenge down to its fundamental theory and then engineering for it specifically, SweBend delivers results that are as reliable as they are efficient – and helps its customers become expert benders in their own right.
